Francisco Rozas

About
Francisco Rozas constructs big, fragile, geometric objects, that oscillate between flatness and three-dimensionality. They embody exemplary visualisations of mathematical dependencies. Only on second sight the observer may realize, that the objects are made of light materials, such as card paper or paper.
Francisco Rozas, born 1980 in Temuco, Chile. Lives and works in Berlin. The artist studied at the ARCIS University Santiago de Chile, at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Prof. Rita McBride and at the Universität der Künste UdK Berlin with Prof. Gregor Schneider and Art in Context (Masters Degree). He received the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch-Dienst) stipend and the CONICYT (National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research) award (Chile).
His work has been shown at many institutions and galleries: Kunsthalle Bremerhaven; Kunsthaus Potsdam; Kommunale Galerie, Rathaus Johannisthal, Berlin; Al Riwaq Art Space (Manama, Bahrain); SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin; Galerie PANAM, Santiago, Chile; art Karlsruhe art fair 2017 | booth Galerie Gilla Loercher; Glint space, Berlin; Galerie Gilla Loercher I Contemporary Art (Berlin) a.o.
