Galerie Gilla Loercher is very pleased to show the new work of the artist Dana Widawski. For the exhibition “Blaupause“ (Blueprint), the Berlin artist designed several faience tableaus that were created in 2014 and produced them in an old, handcrafted manner. Her tile painting is kept in the classic decor color blue and is reminiscent of high-quality Delftware and Portuguese tile panels of past centuries. All scenes are elaborately hand-painted in underglaze and baked onto ceramic tiles: with Dana Widawski, perfect craftsmanship and choice of motif enter into an irritating liaison.

“Blaupause“ is Dana Widawski's second solo show at Galerie Gilla Loercher after the “Arts & Morris” exhibition in 2012, in which the artist dealt with the craft tradition of stencil printing technology and paraphrased ornaments by William Morris.
