Artist Talk | Sandrine Mahéo im Gespräch mit Gilla Loercher und Gästen
Galerie Gilla Loercher freut sich sehr, zu einem Artist talk am 23. Januar 2025 um 18 Uhr einzuladen.
Die Galeristin Gilla Lörcher spricht mit Sandrine Mahéo über ihre künstlerische Praxis.
Noch bis 24. Januar ist die Ausstellung "Structures d'apparaître" der französischen Malerin Sandrine Mahéo zu sehen. "Tatsächlich arbeitet die Französin, die schon lange in Deutschland lebt, mit der Sprühpistole. Wie vor Jahrzehnten schon Hans Hartung als Pionier der informellen Abstraktion. Für ihn bildeten die leuchtenden Farbfelder allerdings den Hintergrund seiner Pinselschwünge, die schwarzen Linien schienen darauf zu schweben. Mahéo verzichtet auf solche Gesten. Lieber setzt sie auf das satte Blau, milchige Beige, Zitronengelb oder verhaltene Pink ihrer einfachen, wiederkehrenden Formen. Manches wirkt subtil, wie der Blick durch die Lupe auf das Detail eines impressionistischen Gemäldes. Anderes scheint kurz vor der Explosion, gleichzeitig hält die Künstlerin all die auseinander strebenden Kräfte auf der Leinwand. Das unterscheidet sie von Kolleginnen wie Katharina Grosse, die ihre Neon-Pigmente über Sofas und Betten und ganze Gebäude sprüht."
